Our 4th of July

This year was our first 4th of July together since we met almost 3 years ago! I can’t believe it took us nearly 3 years to finally get a 4th of July together and hopefully it won’t be too many years before we get another one.

Unfortunately, just as it was getting dark it started to rain so we probably had the most low key 4th of July ever. Our apartments don’t allow fireworks of any type, not even sparklers, and with the rain it kind of made sparklers unusable anyway so going somewhere to try and use them didn’t work out too well. We didn’t go to any fireworks shows either which ended up being a blessing since we would have gotten soaked.

We were curious to see how Roscoe reacted to fireworks even though he does fine with thunderstorms. He’s actually REALLY interested in the sounds of fireworks and was constantly staring out the window, tilting his head and listening curiously. Our dog is so weird but perfect. Seriously. Nothing really bothers him other than us leaving him or not being right with us. As long as we’re around, he’s so purely happy and it’s adorable. It’s such a special bond to have with him.

And of course the day wouldn’t be complete without some family pictures! Although we weren’t able to do them on the 4th due to the rain and I got a lot of bug bites in the 5-10 minutes we were outside, I’m glad we have them to look back on for future years when we may not be together for the holidays. Any pictures of all three of us are so special ♥
