My husband finally got a nice chunk of days off and we took the opportunity to head up to IKEA in North Carolina! It’s about a 3 hour drive to the nearest IKEA for us so we hadn’t been in the 8 months that we’ve now lived in South Carolina together.
I’d looked forward to the day I would get to go to IKEA with my husband and be that young, married couple for many years. Granted this is much younger than I ever pictured myself being able to do that, but I’m so grateful P and I got to go to IKEA together finally! It’s always seemed to me like the perfect newlywed thing to do. I see many more IKEA trips in our future, that’s for sure 🙂
Number one thing that surprised me was how much P and I agreed on when it came to things for future homes. We both know our styles are vastly different (his being much more modern than mine) and aside from things from Pottery Barn there’s usually a lot of discussion when we’re looking to get something new for our home. Maybe it’s just that we’ve lived together for 8 months now and have adapted to each other’s styles more, but aside from kitchens we agreed on so much!
I didn’t take my big camera with us so bear with my cellphone pictures, but I think they show the rest of our day pretty well 🙂

On the way home we drove by a Hobby Lobby and I convinced P we needed to stop so I could look for some planner stuff. It ended up being a good idea because they had ALL their Christmas stuff out already and P and I LOVE Christmas!
We ended up coming home with some frames for over our bed, two place settings from the ARV line that I slowly want to start accumulating, and a dresser and two nightstands which will be featured on the blog as soon as I do some work on them!
I’m so glad we took the opportunity to go to IKEA together while still living in South Carolina. Hopefully wherever we end up will be MUCH closer to an IKEA even though it’s unlikely. I miss my IKEA!
xoxo
So fun! I have never been to Ikea, but one day hopefully! I love day dates – they’re the best!

You HAVE to go to one! I cannot emphasize that enough haha. All of the furniture is such quality and many pieces are great dupes for more expensive brands like Pottery Barn! All our favorite furniture we own is from there 🙂 And day dates truly are the best! I cannot wait until my husband is out of the military so we can have more of them!
It’s definitely on my bucket list haha! We live a few hours from the nearest one in Charlotte, but maybe one day we’ll be stationed closer to one! 🙂
Yes that would be nice! We actually drove up to the one in Charlotte… it was a super nice store! 3 hour drive each way though!
