Yesterday I received a wonderful surprise in the mail from my best friend Emily back in Washington! We’re likely about a month out from getting our “soft” orders for where we’ll be moving next and the anxiety over it is starting to become very real. Especially the possibility of P getting orders to Japan, because we all know there are NO reputable online PhD programs for clinical psychology and there are NO APA (American Psychological Association) accredited programs over in Japan. The thought of living apart from my husband in two separate countries for 4 years isn’t fun!
Life lately has been pretty stressful. Emily has been listening to me talk about it all on our weekly Skype calls for who knows how long now (but she sure is a trooper for listening! 🙂 ) Yesterday took it to a whole new level though… behold, the “Super Awesome Anti-Stress Best Friend Box!”
Perfect timing! Seriously, how amazing is my BFF?! She knows everything that’s needed to make things better, especially when it comes to chocolate 🙂 It really made me realize how much closer we’ve become even since I moved and how incredibly lucky I am to have her as part of my family back in Washington. If things work out and our orders say Washington and not Japan, we are just going to have too much fun in the years to come. The rest of P’s time in the Navy would truly fly by with my family and her by my side, especially when he’s gone. Life around the Navy can really suck and throw you through a loop at times, but friends like Emily help get you through.
Now, where are those orders saying Washington?! A girl can dream, right? 😉
