Puppy Love, Pinterest-Worthy Hair, and Pumpkin Spice Lattes

Yesterday was relaxing and I took some pictures to celebrate in the midst of all this craziness! And of course, it all started out with a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks, my personal favorite.

Isn't Starbucks' cup art the cutest this year?

Before yesterday, I hadn’t gotten my hair cut in 6 months after deciding to grow it out but I was ready to get it shaped. As my best friend pointed out, intentional changes like getting a new haircut can make you feel really good… and it totally did! Since P was working late and I wanted to remember how to curl it for later, I pulled out my tripod and remote to get some pictures. And then Roscoe jumped in and demanded cuddles.

I have got to learn how to curl my hair with a flat iron now!

I guess the whole point behind this post is to make even the ordinary parts of daily life special. Sure, it was just a haircut, puppy, and coffee but taking time to enjoy them made my whole day good, despite it being the most stressful day of the week for me. One of the biggest things I’ve learned this past year from life and my psychology classes is that how you view things plays hugely into how you feel. Yesterday could have been awful and stressful, but focusing on the positives made it actually good. It makes pushing through moments of being overwhelmed so much easier. People keep asking me how I do it or how they would be overwhelmed if they were in my position… and I guess that’s my secret! Make things intentional, special, and focus on the positives.

Also it’s hard to not smile when your puppy somehow wiggles his way into all your pictures. Seriously!

Make today a good Wednesday!

xoxo
